Job Description

Job Purpose:

Mechanical Engineer Team Leader is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and execution of all mechanical systems across projects, ensuring they meet technical standards, budgets, and timelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities on site and within the technical office, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Review, approve, and coordinate mechanical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals and technical documents for infrastructure and finishing works.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil and architectural teams to ensure proper integration of all mechanical systems.
  • Reviews contractor`s payment applications, analyze BOQs, variation orders, and claims and asses new items and contractors claims.
  • Identify and evaluate mechanical related risks, propose mitigation measures, and communicate risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, site logs, and progress reports, provide regular updates to management.
  • Lead and attend technical and coordination meetings, provide guidance and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure coordination between site execution technical office activities to maintain project alignment and performance.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within large scale construction projects, experience in Real Estate Developer or Construction is a must.
  • Strong expertise in HVAC, plumping and fire fighting, including full MEP coordination and construction methodologies.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing BOQs, technical specifications, contracts, variation orders, and claims.
  • Ability to analyze new scope items, evaluate contractor claims, and assess mechanical risks impacting project cost and schedule.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultant, and stakeholders across all project phases.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
