Job Summary:
- The Manufacturing Engineer (BOM & Weight Management) is responsible for managing and updating the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring accurate weight calculations for manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with production, supply chain, and ERP/PLM teams to maintain data integrity, optimize materials usage, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
BOM Management & Updates
- Create, update, and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) in ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Oracle, Siemens Teamcenter, etc.).
- Ensure BOM accuracy by aligning it with engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Calculate and update component and assembly weights in PLM & ERP systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process preferably fabrication.
- Experience with BOM management in ERP preferably QAD and PLM preferably PTC Windchill.
- Strong knowledge of weight calculation methods.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering change management, and cost optimization.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets accurately.
