We are seeking a detail-oriented
Mechanical Integration Engineer to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be at the core of our product development process — bridging multiple engineering disciplines to ensure that airframe, propulsion, avionics, payloads, and launch/recovery systems come together as a unified, functional system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams from early concept through to prototype build and serial production releases, making your work directly visible in the final product.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion and avionics — and who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Integration
- Participate and support conceptual design studies, contributing to system-level architecture and trade-off analyses
- Integrate airframe, propulsion, avionics, payload, and launch/recovery subsystems into a coherent and manufacturable vehicle design
- Define mounting interfaces between mechanical and avionics systems — ensuring compatibility across
- Own space allocation, cable routing strategies, and accessibility planning to support efficient maintenance and serviceability throughout the product/UAV lifecycle
- Proactively identify integration risks early in the design cycle and drive resolution through collaboration with subsystem owners
Prototype & Production Support
- Support hands-on prototype assembly, providing on-vehicle integration guidance and resolving fit/form issues in real time
- Produce clear, accurate, manufacturing-ready part and assembly drawings in line with engineering drawing standards
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective
Validation & Documentation
- Develop validation and test plans to verify that integrated assemblies meet design requirements
- Support physical testing activities, recording observations and analyzing results against acceptance criteria
- Author thorough technical reports and presentations to support design reviews and project milestones
What We're Looking For Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in a mechanical design, systems integration, or product development role
- Demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
- Exposure to aerospace, automotive, or complex electromechanical product development is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, configurations, and drawing environments)
- Competent in producing 2D production drawings to industry standards (GD&T, ASME/ISO)
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for data management is a plus
- Excellent understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering (or closely related discipline)
Bonus Points — Nice to Have
- Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes (layup, bonding, co-cure)
- Exposure to additive manufacturing for prototyping or end-use parts
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles
- Experience with FEA tools (e.g. SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS) for basic structural analysis
- Understanding of aerospace certification/qualification requirements
Who You Are
- You are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how complex systems fit together
- You take ownership of your work and follow issues through to resolution
- You are organized, thorough in your documentation, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where requirements can evolve
Industry
- Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing
