Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - El Rehab

Job Purpose:

Supervise and monitor mechanical operation and maintenance works to ensure system efficiency, continuous equipment operation, and strict compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Execute and monitor preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance plans.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of pumps, storage tanks, water/drainage networks, firefighting systems, and HVAC systems.
• Investigate equipment breakdowns, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Address client complaints related to mechanical works promptly and effectively.
• Supervise contractors and ensure full compliance with technical specifications and contractual terms.
• Review completed works, maintenance reports, and contractor payment certificates (invoices).
• Identify required spare parts and equipment, and participate in technical inspection and acceptance testing.
• Prepare periodic reports detailing maintenance activities, breakdown history, and overall equipment condition.
• Participate in replacement, renovation, and modernization projects for mechanical equipment and systems.
• Enforce strict adherence to occupational health and safety regulations during all site operations.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and operations teams to resolve overlapping technical issues.
• Manage technician performance and distribute daily tasks in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain an inventory of equipment and systems reaching the end of their functional lifespan.
• Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies comparing repair versus replacement options.
• Offer actionable recommendations to reduce maintenance costs and improve overall equipment efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, operations, and facility management (FM).
• Proven experience in managing contractors, vendors, and third-party maintenance providers.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints, write technical reports, and troubleshoot complex system failures.
• Excellent leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
