Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Manager – Mechanical is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering mechanical construction projects from project award through final handover. The role oversees all mechanical activities, including HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, Drainage, and other mechanical systems, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. The Project Manager will lead project teams, coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, and ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Manage all phases of mechanical projects from planning to final handover.
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, manpower plans, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure project completion within the approved budget and timeline.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans.

Project Management

  • Lead and supervise site engineers, technical office engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate daily site activities to achieve project milestones.
  • Review project schedules and monitor work progress.

Mechanical Engineering Coordination

  • Manage all mechanical works, including:
    • HVAC Systems
    • Fire Fighting Systems
    • Plumbing Systems
    • Drainage Systems
    • Water Supply Systems
    • Chilled Water Systems
    • Ventilation Systems
    • Mechanical Equipment Installation
  • Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, civil, architectural, and other disciplines.

Client & Consultant Coordination

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Attend progress meetings and technical coordination meetings.
  • Resolve technical and contractual issues with clients and consultants.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with all stakeholders.

Procurement & Commercial Management

  • Coordinate with procurement for material approvals and deliveries.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Monitor procurement schedules to ensure timely material availability.
  • Manage variation orders, claims, and contract changes.
  • Monitor project cash flow and profitability.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with project specifications, local codes, and international standards.
  • Work closely with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure successful testing, commissioning, and system handover.
  • Support project audits and inspections.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
  • Monitor project KPIs, budgets, schedules, and resource utilization.
  • Review project documentation, technical correspondence, and meeting minutes.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project engineers and site teams.
  • Conduct regular project coordination meetings.
  • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Support the professional development of junior engineers.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in managing mechanical construction projects.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial, residential, governmental, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, and Mechanical Systems.
  • Willing to work on-site in the New Administrative Capital, Cairo, Egypt.

  • Familiarity with Revit MEP and BIM coordination is an advantage.
  • Experience using ERP systems is a plus.
