Job Summary
We are looking for a Mechanical Technical Office Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project and tender documents, preparing technical submissions, shop drawings, coordination drawings, RFIs, as-built drawings, and supporting design calculations.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems, along with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC design/calculation tools. Experience in hospital projects and medical gas systems is highly preferred.
Job Description
- Review and analyze project documents, including drawings, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and contract documents, to understand project requirements and scope.
- Review tender documents and identify technical requirements, specifications, quantities, and scope of work.
- Prepare RFIs (Requests for Information) and submit them to clients/consultants after obtaining the required internal approvals.
- Prepare technical offers, material submittals, and approved vendor lists in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Prepare and review shop drawings and as-built drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Prepare mechanical coordination drawings and coordinate different mechanical trades with other disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure proper installation.
- Perform and review mechanical design calculations as required for design verification and project execution.
- Utilize relevant engineering software such as HAP, Elite, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP for design and technical office activities.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, construction, and site teams to ensure that technical requirements are properly implemented.
- Review technical submittals, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and approved designs.
- Support the technical team in resolving design and construction-related technical issues.
- Ensure all technical documents and drawings are prepared in accordance with project standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical technical office activities.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
Good understanding of mechanical design principles, construction methods, materials, and installation practices.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
Good knowledge of HVAC design and calculation software such as HAP and Elite.
Experience in preparing shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, technical submittals, and RFIs.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
Experience with hospital projects and medical gas systems is highly preferred.
Good knowledge of relevant mechanical codes, standards, and engineering practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
Very good command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
