Job Description
Job Purpose -
To carry out maintenance, modification, overhauling and installation activities on the mechanical machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and industry best practices, HSE guidelines and quality standards to attain cost-effectiveness, functionality and reliability.
Key Accountabilities
Inventory
Check the necessary stock levels of consumables to enable the Outage manager's effective inventory control and timely re-ordering.
Documentation
Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out including daily progress report, filling out measurement protocols, defaults, problems, various findings and conditions of all machines to ensure timely availability of information and organised referencing.
Sign the daily site-, meeting- and Toolbox talk attendance sheets.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation's standards.
Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures
Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Related Assignments
Perform any other duties which the outage manager may require to be carried out.
Internal
COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Needs to work closely with Mechanical Supervisor, Engineers and Supervisors in the Outage teams
External
May need to work closely with subcontracted labour, helpers, or OEM representatives
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Degree or associate degree in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred
Minimum Experience
Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Skills
Strategic and commercial mindset to contribute towards the success of a new business unit
Ability to originate and build relationships at senior level
Project Management principles and tools
Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
Ability to complement the decision-making processes based on technical know-how

Thorough understanding of latest technology and innovation
Understanding of the business value chain and operations
Knowledge of applicable legal / quality / HSSE requirements
Thorough knowledge of power plant maintenance, its equipment, practices, procedures
