🚀 About the Program (Makerspace Program)

The Makerspace Program at Qatar Scientific Club is designed to support inventors, entrepreneurs, and innovators aged 15 and above. We provide technical guidance, tools, and training to help individuals transform their ideas into working prototypes and real-world products, while also offering hands-on workshops in design, electronics, robotics, and manufacturing.


📚 Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Mechatronics Engineer to support inventors and makers by providing technical expertise in prototyping, electronics, mechanics, and control systems. The role includes mentoring inventors, supporting the design-to-prototype journey, and delivering educational workshops and technical courses for the community.


Responsibilities

  • Guide inventors through the full product development cycle: from idea validation, design, prototyping, to testing.
  • Design and build mechanical, electronic, and control systems for projects and prototypes.
  • Provide technical consultations and hands-on support for makerspace users.
  • Deliver workshops and technical courses related to mechatronics, electronics, robotics, and prototyping techniques.
  • Manage makerspace tools, equipment, and resources, ensuring safety and functionality.
  • Support the development of innovation programs and challenges within the club.
  • Collaborate with inventors to troubleshoot, refine, and finalize their projects.
  • Contribute to creating a vibrant, creative, and technical culture in the makerspace.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanics, electronics, embedded systems, automation, and prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters).
  • Previous experience supporting innovation, R&D, prototyping, or makerspace activities.
  • Experience in delivering training or technical workshops.
  • Passion for innovation, hands-on making, and community engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and ability to mentor diverse project teams.
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and good English communication skills.
