Role Description The Medical Records Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for reviewing, organizing, and maintaining medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational standards. Daily tasks include analyzing patient documentation, identifying discrepancies, and recommending improvements to record-keeping processes and workflows. The consultant collaborates with clinical and administrative teams, provides guidance on best practices for documentation, and may support the implementation or optimization of electronic medical record systems such as MyChart. The role also involves preparing reports, contributing to process improvement projects, and supporting training efforts related to medical records management.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to evaluate medical records, identify gaps, and interpret data for process improvement.
  • Candidates should possess Consulting and Healthcare Consulting skills to advise stakeholders on documentation standards, compliance, and best practices.
  • Candidates should possess Project Management skills to coordinate record-related initiatives, implement process changes, and meet timelines.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with MyChart or similar electronic health record platforms to support record accuracy and system optimization.
  • Relevant qualifications include experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare administration, with knowledge of patient privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include strong communication skills, attention to detail, proficiency with office software, and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • A diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in a healthcare setting.
