Medical Transcriptionist

A leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Transcriptionist to join its team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely transcription of medical reports, clinical documentation, and physician dictations while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical dictations including consultation notes, discharge summaries, operative reports, medical histories, referral letters, and diagnostic reports.
• Review and edit transcribed documents for accuracy, grammar, terminology, and formatting.
• Ensure all medical records and documentation comply with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and confidentiality standards.
• Interpret medical terminology, abbreviations, and clinical language accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations when required.
• Maintain efficient turnaround times while ensuring high-quality documentation.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems and transcription software effectively.
• Support departmental documentation needs and assist with record management activities as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Transcription, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical transcription within a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
• Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records systems.
• Strong command of English, both written and verbal. Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an acute care hospital environment.
• Familiarity with healthcare accreditation standards and medical documentation requirements in the UAE.
• Experience using speech recognition and transcription technologies.
