Job Description

This opportunity is best suited to current or former A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operators (ARO) with instructional or mentoring experience.

We are seeking an experienced A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Instructor (Mentor / ARO Instructor) to deliver high-quality training to Aerial Refueling Operators (AROs) on the Airbus A330 MRTT platform. The successful candidate will provide classroom, simulator, and airborne instruction while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom, simulator, and practical airborne instruction to A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operators.
  • Provide training on A330 MRTT aerial refueling systems, including the Aerial Refueling Boom System (ARBS), Wing Air Refueling Pods (WARP), Fuselage Refueling Unit (FRU), and Remote Vision System (RVS).
  • Conduct qualification, continuation, and proficiency training and assessments.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide coaching and corrective instruction where required.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of training syllabi, lesson plans, simulator scenarios, and instructional material.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable operational procedures, safety requirements, and training standards.
  • Promote Crew Resource Management (CRM), human factors, and best instructional practices.
  • Support mission planning, briefing, debriefing, and operational readiness activities.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • High School Diploma (minimum).
  • Aviation, Aerospace, Engineering, or Military qualification preferred.

Experience

  • Operational experience as an A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operator (ARO).
  • Significant experience conducting air-to-air refueling operations.
  • Previous instructional, mentoring, or training experience is highly desirable.

Technical Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of A330 MRTT aerial refueling systems, including ARBS, WARP, FRU, and RVS.
  • Strong knowledge of aerial refueling procedures, operational standards, and safety requirements.
  • Experience delivering simulator and live-flight instruction is preferred.

Certifications

  • Qualified A330 MRTT Aerial Refueling Operator.
  • MRTT Instructor qualification (preferred).
  • CRM / Human Factors training.
  • Valid aircrew medical certification (where applicable).

Skills

  • Excellent instructional and mentoring ability.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic operational environment.
  • High level of professionalism, leadership, and safety awareness.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and documentation skills.

Other Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain the required security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel and support operational deployments when required.

Working Environment

  • Classroom, simulator, and flight operations.
  • Domestic and international travel.
  • Operational flying schedules, including occasional night operations.
  • Support of military aviation training activities.
