Role Overview:
As MEP Engineer (Building Project), you will lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and fire-life-safety systems for our high-rise residential and mixed-use developments. You will ensure design, coordination, execution and commissioning comply with Dubai/UAE regulations, international standards, and best practices, while liaising closely with architectural, structural and interior design teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve MEP design drawings (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, electrical, ELV/low-voltage, backup power, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international codes and regulations (Dubai Building Code, DEWA standards, fire & life-safety codes, authority requirements, etc.)
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, interior design teams and consultants to integrate MEP systems smoothly with building design avoid clashes, ensure serviceability and maintenance access
- Supervise site execution: installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of all MEP systems
- Prepare and review BOQs, material submittals, technical specifications, tender documents, and procurement packages
- Monitor quality control, HSE compliance, and regulatory approvals/inspections (authorities such as DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence etc.)
- Oversee project schedules, ensure timely delivery of MEP components and milestones
- Mentor and manage junior MEP engineers/draftsmen, ensuring documentation, shop drawings and as-built drawings are accurate and complete
- Ensure handover & post-handover MEP documentation and maintenance readiness
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or relevant discipline)
- Minimum 10 years of MEP engineering experience, ideally with significant Saudi / UAE / GCC or Dubai-based projects on high-rise residential towers or large mixed-use developments
- Strong knowledge of local Dubai/UAE codes, regulations, and authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, relevant fire & life-safety standards)
- Proficiency in MEP design and drafting tools: e.g., AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, HVAC load-calculation software, etc.
- Proven track record coordinating with architectural and interior design teams, structural consultants, and executing multi-discipline integration in complex projects
- Excellent organisational, documentation, QA/QC and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills (English; Arabic is a plus)
- UAE driving license preferred (for site visits)
