Role Description
Waves and Cables is seeking a full-time on-site Mechanical Estimator to provide accurate and timely cost estimates for electromechanical and construction projects. The Estimator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with the role which include identifying project requirements, quantity measurements, pricing of materials, analysing subcontractor quotes etc. while ensuring accuracy and quality of estimates in a fast-paced environment.

- Evaluate bid packages to cover all trades mainly mechanical disciplines HVAC, Firefighting and Plumbing. Electrical discipline knowledge is a plus.
- Experience in estimating electromechanical and construction projects
- Having adequate estimation experience in Restaurants, Hospitals, Offices and Villa projects.
- Attending pre-bid meetings. Arranging for and attending site visits; prepare detailed visit report and attending clarification meetings with client.
- Specifications, statement of work and other construction documents to determine material, labor requirements and prepare itemized lists;
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- A very good knowledge on MEP design for overall estimation and costing. Excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
- Prepare the BOQ for final submission to the Client.
- Perform value engineering and estimate reconciliation activities to bring project price within client s budget;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar applications
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to approach and solve complex challenges
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field is preferred
- Experience of 2 to 3 years in estimation in electromechanical and construction projects is preferred
- Conduct studies to establish standard cost data and set up cost monitoring and reporting systems for ongoing projects and ability to perform bid estimating and cost management analysis.
- Quantitative and analytical skills, with an excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- With at least 3 years work related experience in an Electromechanical or Industrial company in estimation in UAE.
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer having exposure, knowledge and experience in working of MEP Services.
- Proven Track Record on completing projects.
- Employment Contract duration shall be for minimum 2 years (renewable)
