About The Job
The Merchandising Director defines and leads LVME retail merchandising strategy across all categories (Leather Goods, Ready-To-Wear, Shoes, Perfumes & Beauty, Watches & Jewelry, Accessories, Travel & Home) to drive commercial performance, brand consistency, and client experience across the retail network. This role oversees assortment strategy, store segmentation, activation planning, merchandising governance and creative visual merchandising to ensure effective execution across markets.
Leading merchandising teams and working closely with Retail, Supply Chain, and Client Development functions, the position drives data-informed decisions, performance monitoring, and continuous optimization to deliver measurable impact on sell-through, margin, and retail excellence.
Job responsibilities
Strategic Direction & Governance
- Define and drive LVME retail merchandising strategy, ensuring local adaptations uphold Maison DNA and business priorities.
- Oversee all key pillars: assortment planning, store segmentation, capacity management, and activation calendars.
- Ensure full compliance with pricing, product, and display guidelines, safeguarding brand integrity at every retail touchpoint.
Business Acceleration & Analytical Excellence
- Direct and manage the Merchandising team's participation in buying sessions collaborating with EMEA and Central teams to secure key SKUs relevant to Middle East markets.
- Monitor and challenge sales performance, sell-through, and margin targets, leveraging advanced analytics for continuous improvement.
- Lead the annual and seasonal planning processes in collaboration with Zone teams, including budget, forecast, and resource allocation.
- Drive competitive benchmarking, channel segmentation, and innovation—ensuring the Maison remains one step ahead.
Leadership & Stakeholder Mobilization
- Inspire, coach, and develop merchandising managers and field teams, building a culture of empowerment and accountability.
- Act as the central node between zone and local teams, retail operations, marketing, and supply chain to unlock speed and alignment.
- Represent the merchandising function in executive and cross-Maison committees, championing both commercial results and client experience.
Client Experience & In-Store Impact
- Elevate the in-store journey by ensuring product narratives, VM, and activation plans resonate with evolving client expectations.
- Monitor feedback and market signals, translating insights into agile decision-making and offer innovation.
- Foster a retail excellence mindset—where each boutique embodies the highest standards of luxury, consistency, and service.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in merchandising, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the luxury retail sector.
- Demonstrated experience in the Middle Eastern market is essential.
- Strong understanding of luxury consumers and market dynamics in the region.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandising strategies that drive sales and profitability.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage.
