Mobile App Developer (iOS & Android) IoT, Subscriptions & Credit Systems (Remote)

We're building a mobile-first product that integrates tightly with custom IoT hardware and a web-based subscription system. The app is where the product lives subscriptions are purchased on the web, access is enforced in-app, and usage is monitored closely through a credit-based system. We're looking for an experienced Mobile App Developer who has shipped real-world apps and understands how to build secure, scalable mobile systems that go beyond basic CRUD or in-app purchases.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain production-ready iOS and Android applications
• Integrate mobile apps with IoT devices (BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, or similar)
• Implement web-based subscriptions (Netflix-style)
• Enforce app-only access

- Core functionality available only inside the mobile app

- Website used for account management and billing only

• Design and implement a credit / usage-based system

- Track consumption in real time

- Prevent overuse or abuse

- Sync credits securely across devices

• Work closely with backend and hardware teams to ensure reliable data flow
• Handle edge cases: offline mode, reconnection, device syncing
• Prepare apps for App Store & Play Store submission and updates

Required Experience (Must-Have)

• Proven experience shipping both iOS and Android apps
• Real IoT integration experience (BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, or custom device protocols)
• Experience with external subscription systems (Stripe, web-based billing, entitlement verification)
• Strong understanding of API-driven access control
• Experience implementing usage-based or credit-based systems
• Familiarity with mobile security best practices
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment

Nice to Have (Strong Advantage)

• Experience with:

- IoT consumer products

- Edge cases around intermittent connectivity

- Real-time data syncing

• Background in fintech, SaaS, or metered billing systems
• Strong UX instincts for complex flows
• Experience scaling apps beyond MVP
