Modern Trade Sales Manager

Reporting to: CEO

Are you a sales leader who thrives in the structured, data-driven world of modern tradeand knows how to turn strong partnerships into sustainable growth

We're looking for a Modern Trade Sales Manager to lead and expand our presence across key modern trade channels. This role is all about driving revenue, strengthening strategic retail partnerships, and leading a high-performing sales team to win at shelf, in negotiations, and on execution.

This is a role for someone who can balance strategy with execution: managing key modern trade accounts end-to-end while leading Unit Sales Managers to deliver ambitious targets. You'll be a key contributor to our growth journeyensuring availability, visibility, profitability, and long-term partnerships across all modern trade customers.

As part of our greater mission to make healthier food choices accessible and sustainable for people's everyday lifestyle - we're extending our commitment to the region with our entry into the Saudi Arabian market, with a substantial retail expansion plan and on-ground operations starting Q2, 2025 in Riyadh.

Lychee relies on both its manufacturing capabilities and brand recognition built over a decade to expand its retail operations seamlessly based on customer demand and to scale its existing presence in modern trade, traditional trade and quick commerce.

What will you be doing

  • Lead, coach, and develop Unit Sales Managers to achieve modern trade business objectives.
  • Design and execute the modern trade sales strategy aligned with company growth targets.
  • Own and manage relationships with key modern trade accounts (hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience chains), including JBPs and annual negotiations.
  • Drive distribution expansion, assortment optimization, availability, and in-store execution excellence.
  • Build and monitor annual sales plans, promotional calendars, and trade marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity, translating insights into action plans.
  • Manage modern trade trade-spend budgets, ensuring strong ROI on promotions and discounts.
  • Drive channel profitability while ensuring compliance with pricing, margin, and trading terms.
  • Forecast sales volumes in close coordination with supply chain to ensure consistent product availability.
  • Partner closely with marketing and operations to align campaigns, launches, and in-store execution.
  • Expand presence in existing key accounts and onboard new modern trade customers.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear targets, tracking KPIs, and motivating the team to exceed them.

What are we looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or any relevant field
  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in Sales within FMCG industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within Modern Trade
  • Strong exposure to modern trade dynamics (hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience chains).
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding modern trade distribution.
  • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
  • Solid experience in managing key accounts and complex commercial negotiations.
  • Strong business acumen with the agility to adapt strategies to fast-changing market realities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
