Job Description

The Motor Underwriter Officer is responsible for underwriting motor insurance risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines, insurer agreements, and regulatory requirements in KSA. The role focuses on evaluating risks, preparing quotations, issuing policies, and supporting business growth while ensuring profitability, compliance, and service excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite motor insurance proposals in line with underwriting guidelines and insurer authority.
  • Evaluate risk factors such as vehicle type, usage, driver profile, claims history, and coverage limits.
  • Approve, modify, or decline risks within delegated authority.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive motor insurance quotations.
  • Ensure timely issuance of policies, endorsements, and renewals.
  • Verify policy documents for accuracy and compliance before release to clients.
  • Manage motor policy renewals, including pricing review and risk reassessment.
  • Support retention strategies by providing competitive renewal terms.
  • Support claims teams by providing underwriting input when required.
  • Provide underwriting support to sales and account management teams.
  • Respond to underwriting and technical queries professionally and promptly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure all costumer information and data is safeguarded according to company and cybersecurity policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, or a Related field.
  • Professional Certifications Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) highly preferred.
  • Possession of the International Foundation Certificate in Insurance (IFCE) is a mandatory requirement as stipulated by the Insurance Authority in Saudi Arabia.
  • At least two (2) to three (3) years of relevant professional experience in motor underwriting gained within an insurance broker or insurance company operating in Saudi Arabia.
