Essential Function & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Motor Winder include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED /Associates or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience in the power generation industry specifically working as a Motor Winder
Recognized Time served Apprenticeship in Armature Winding of Heavy electrical machines
Extensive knowledge of Brazing Techniques
Basic knowledge of Electrical Testing
Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.
Skills:
Demonstrates individual & team skills.
Experience and training in Alstom, GE, Siemens, or other OEM equipment is preferred
Fluent in English language.
Strong organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Basic knowledge in mechanical disassembly and reassembly
Able to complete all tasks associated with the position with minimum to no supervision. This includes coil installation, side packing, wedging, tying, brazing, and taping.
Able to understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and written procedures
Able to use precision measuring instruments
