Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex MPLS network issues, including SR-MPLS, routing, switching, and IGW-related problems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network incidents.
  • Configure and optimize MPLS networks, including traffic influence on ingress/egress, traffic engineering, and label distribution.
  • Implement and manage SR MPLS-TE and MPLS-VPN solutions.
  • Plan and execute network changes such as hardware upgrades, software updates, and configuration modifications.
  • Ensure all changes are implemented with minimal service disruption.
  • Work closely with L3 engineers, vendors, and customers to resolve escalated issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ACI, Cloud, NSX, etc.) for seamless network integration.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for NIP and MOP procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 3+ Yrs experience in MPLS network engineering within a telecommunications environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SR-MPLS, MPLS-VPN, SR MPLS-TE, and QoS.
  • Proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and ISIS, plus solid switching experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with Cisco devices.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Certification: CCNP Service Provider (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Strong understanding of MPLS architecture and network security best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
