What role will you play in our team

The Geoscience data management team is seeking candidates to join its dynamic organization. GDM delivers reliable data ingestion management and operations for Exploration, Development and Production Business Units.

  • As a Geoscience Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of seismic and well-related data across global geoscience workflows. This position requires deep expertise in either in seismic or well data management, geophysics or petrophysical fundamentals, and geospatial standards to support high-quality interpretation and informed drilling decisions.
  • You will manage and validate complex datasets-petrophysical logs, checkshots, directional surveys or 2D/3D/4D seismic data and related metadata while applying rigorous geodesy principles. Leveraging advanced scripting and database skills, you will automate workflows, enhance data quality, and drive efficiency across systems of record.
  • Our office is located at Bengaluru, India and you will interact with teams around the world.

What you will do

      • Ensure accuracy and integrity of geoscience datasets -wells/seismic through rigorous QC processes.
      • Validate geosciences data and apply interpretation fundamentals to support decision-making.
      • Perform geospatial QC using ArcGIS and advanced geodesy standards for data alignment.
      • Develop automation scripts to streamline data loading, QC, and transformation workflows.
      • Execute SQL queries for efficient data retrieval, reporting, and system integration.
      • Collaborate globally to maintain consistent data standards across geoscience workflows.

Skills and Qualifications

      • Masters in Geology /Geophysics or related field of study.
      • Advanced English skills, verbal and written communication.
      • Min 2 years experience in similar roles.
      • Knowledge of either Petrophysics or Geophysics : log types/seismic data types, QC techniques, and interpretation fundamentals
      • Demonstrable working experience with ArcGIS and understanding of coordinates systems, datums and projections.
      • Intermediate/advanced scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell) and SQL querying.
      • Demonstrable experience with Petrel/Studio for seismic and well data integration.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

    • Scripting skills oriented to automation and orchestration (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
    • Hands-on experience with SQL: design, query optimization, data manipulation
    • Data Analytics and AI experience desirable
