About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Murex Market Risk Consultant with strong expertise in market risk management, risk analytics, VaR, sensitivities, and regulatory risk reporting within the Murex MX.3 platform. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, configuring, and enhancing market risk solutions that support enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance for a leading financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support Market Risk solutions within the Murex platform.
- Implement and maintain market risk methodologies, including VaR, sensitivities, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Configure risk calculations, simulation setups, and risk reporting frameworks.
- Work closely with risk managers, traders, business analysts, and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Support the development and optimization of risk reports, dashboards, and analytics.
- Analyze and troubleshoot market risk calculation, reconciliation, and reporting issues.
- Ensure accurate risk aggregation and exposure monitoring across multiple asset classes.
- Participate in Murex upgrades, migrations, testing, and production releases.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and internal risk governance initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Murex MX.3 Market Risk module.
- Proven expertise in market risk configuration, analytics, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of Value at Risk (VaR), Stress Testing, Sensitivities, P&L Attribution, and Scenario Analysis.
- Experience supporting market risk processes across multiple asset classes, including FX, Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, and Derivatives.
- Knowledge of Murex simulation, market data, and risk engine configurations.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting market risk management.
- Experience with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience within investment banking, capital markets, or financial services organizations.
- Experience in Murex implementation, migration, or upgrade projects.
- Exposure to regulatory initiatives such as FRTB, Basel III/IV, and market risk governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of other Murex modules such as Front Office, Credit Risk, Datamart, Back Office, or Collateral Management.
- Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and risk data management solutions.
