Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Myofunctional Therapist to join our multidisciplinary dental care team. As part of our team in Jumeirah Beach Road, you'll work in an ONSITE environment, delivering exceptional care to both pediatric and adult patients. Your focus will be assessing, diagnosing, and treating orofacial muscle and functional disorders, collaborating closely with orthodontists, airway dentists, TMJ specialists, and pediatric dental professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive orofacial myofunctional assessments of patients, including those with TMJ, airway, and orthodontic needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on latest evidence-based practices in orofacial myofunctional therapy.
- Provide hands-on therapy sessions for children and adults to address oral function, swallowing disorders, and related breathing issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including orthodontists, pediatric dentists, airway experts, and TMJ specialists for comprehensive patient management.
- Educate patients and their families on best practices for craniofacial and oral development.
- Monitor progress, reassess therapeutic needs, and adjust plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and patient histories.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to develop integrated solutions for complex cases.
Must have requirements
- Certification or formal training in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in myofunctional therapy, pediatric, or orofacial therapy roles.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, treatment planning, and therapy session delivery for orofacial and oral-motor disorders.
- Strong knowledge of craniofacial development, oral function, swallowing patterns, and breathing-related disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary dental and healthcare environment.
Nice to have requirements
- Experience working specifically with TMJ, sleep apnea orthodontic and pediatric patients.
- DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter.
- Experience working in a dental, orthodontic, or similar clinical environment in Dubai.
- Familiarity with airway-focused dental protocols and multidisciplinary approaches.
