Network and security Engineer

ABOUT US

Entelyst is a Qatar-based IT system integrator and cybersecurity consulting firm serving government and enterprise clients across Qatar and the GCC. We're hiring a core technical engineer to deploy, configure, and support network and security infrastructure at client sites.

THE ROLE

• Deploy and configure firewalls, switches, wireless controllers, and security appliances at client sites

• Implement and fine-tune Fortinet, Sophos, Barracuda, and Palo Alto solutions end-to-end

• Configure and manage SD-WAN, WAF, VPN tunnels, and network segmentation

• Set up and manage EDR platforms across client endpoints

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of network and security issues — Layer 2 to Layer 7

• Execute change requests, firmware upgrades, and patch management on security devices

• Respond to security incidents — investigate, contain, and resolve

• Maintain accurate as-built documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records

• Liaise with vendors on technical escalations and RMAs

CORE TECHNOLOGY STACK

Firewalls & Security: Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto NGFW, Sophos XGS/XDR, Barracuda, WAF, IPS/IDS, VPN (IPSec/SSL)

Networking: Managed Switches (L2/L3), Wireless/Wi-Fi (802.11), VLAN, QoS, OSPF, BGP basics, SD-WAN

Endpoint & Cloud: EDR platforms, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Azure (basic — VNets, NSGs, identity), SIEM basics, Email Security

REQUIREMENTS

• 3–4 years of hands-on, post-sales / field engineering experience

• Strong practical skills deploying and configuring Fortinet, Sophos, Barracuda, or Palo Alto — not just theory

• Solid networking fundamentals — routing, switching, VLANs, wireless

• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN and WAF configuration

• Experience managing EDR solutions across enterprise endpoints

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure basics

• Ability to work independently on client sites with minimal supervision

• Strong troubleshooting mindset — owns problems until resolved

• English proficiency required.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

NSE 4 / NSE 5 (Fortinet), PCNSE (Palo Alto), Sophos Certified Engineer, CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Security+, AZ-500 (Azure Security)

• Hands-on exposure to complex, real-world client environments across government and enterprise sectors in Qatar

• Career growth into senior engineer or team lead roles

• Vendor certification support (Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto)

• Stable, established firm with 18+ years in the Qatar IT market
