The L2 Network Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure to ensure stability, efficiency, and availability across operations, maintenance (O&M), and managed services projects. The role focuses on monitoring network performance, resolving technical issues, and supporting infrastructure deployment while escalating complex issues to L3 support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain network infrastructure to ensure stability and high availability of services.
- Monitor network performance and report anomalies to senior engineers.
- Implement network configurations according to best practices and guidelines.
- Ensure backup copies of network components are maintained.
- Assist in network projects, including infrastructure deployment and integration.
- Provide Level 2 technical support for network-related incidents.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L3 engineers for advanced troubleshooting.
- Follow defined change management procedures and support compliance initiatives.
- Document network configurations, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Experience:
- 24 years in network operations, troubleshooting, and support.
Skills:
- Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and network monitoring tools.
- Basic troubleshooting of firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Understanding of network security principles and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to document network configurations and incidents.
