Job Summary
The Network Security Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures and security solutions that protect organizational information assets from internal and external threats. This role leads secure network design initiatives, develops security frameworks, and ensures compliance with security policies, standards, and industry best practices across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Design, document, and maintain secure network and system architectures aligned with business objectives and security requirements.
- Develop and review network security blueprints, segmentation strategies, and data flow diagrams.
- Integrate security controls across enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, proxies, and load balancers.
- Define secure design patterns for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud network architectures.
Implementation & Configuration
- Lead deployment and configuration of network security devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, WAFs, and load balancers.
- Oversee implementation of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Network Access Control (NAC), and micro-segmentation initiatives.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to embed security into design, build, and implementation phases.
- Review and approve network security configurations and change requests.
Technology Evaluation & Innovation
- Evaluate emerging network security technologies, tools, and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain network security architecture roadmaps.
- Recommend technology investments to enhance security posture and resilience.
Security Compliance, Mentoring & Collaboration
- Ensure network security architecture aligns with organizational policies and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including GDPR and PCI-DSS.
- Conduct periodic network security assessments, gap analyses, and audits.
- Define and maintain network security standards, configuration baselines, and hardening guidelines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to network and security engineers.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, DevOps teams, cloud architects, and security operations teams to deliver integrated security solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in network and security engineering, including 4+ years in a senior or leadership role.
- Bilingual Arabic speaking is mandatory.
- Proven experience designing and leading enterprise-scale network security architectures.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Certifications (One or More Required)
- CCNP Security or CCIE Security
- Palo Alto PCNSE
- Fortinet Certification
- Cloud Security Certification (Azure / GCP / AWS)
- F5 Certification Preferred
Required Skillsets
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs).
- Expertise with Next-Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower).
- Proficiency in network policy design, QoS, packet shaping, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
- Hands-on experience with cloud network security in Azure and GCP environments.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust, SD-WAN, and SASE architectures.
- Strong understanding of modern attack vectors and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
