Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable Network Support Engineer with hands-on expertise in Linux systems, Virtual Machines, Firewalls, VPNs, Routing, IoT Edge Devices, and CCTV security systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency in network management, troubleshooting, and system optimization to ensure continuous performance and reliability across enterprise and security infrastructures.
Responsibilities
Ensure continuous uptime and reliable performance of video surveillance, network, and edge infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve network, routing, firewall, and VPN-related issues across LAN and WAN environments.
Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to integrate CCTV and IoT edge devices into the existing network infrastructure.
Administer and maintain Linux-based systems used for monitoring, logging, and storage of security and network data.
Configure, deploy, and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) supporting surveillance and network management applications.
Perform periodic network performance assessments and implement tuning measures to enhance reliability, bandwidth efficiency, and cybersecurity.
Utilize infrastructure monitoring tools to track uptime, traffic utilization, and device health metrics.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network topology diagrams, configuration records, change logs, and standard operating procedures.
Provide on-site and remote technical support during outages or incidents, conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
QualificationsProven experience in network engineering, focusing on firewalls, VPNs, routing protocols, and edge device management.
Strong understanding of IP networking, including VLANs, subnetting, and advanced configuration of switches and routers.
Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, Rocky, or CentOS) environments for system administration and monitoring.
Direct experience with NVRs, DVRs, MDVRs, and IP-based CCTV surveillance systems.
Capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network and device-level issues efficiently.
Technical certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE4, CompTIA Network+, or electronic security systems credentials) are preferred.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
EducationBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
