Job Title:
Network Support Engineer
Key Responsibilities· Ensure continuous uptime and reliable performance of video surveillance, network, and edge infrastructure across enterprise data centre environments.
· Design, configure, and maintain high-availability network architectures, including Cisco Nexus switches, to support mission-critical surveillance and IT operations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve network, routing, firewall, and VPN-related issues across LAN, WAN, and data centre environments.
· Administer and support enterprise firewalls and security platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet), including policy configuration, VPN tunnels, and threat management.
· Collaborate with IT, security, and operations teams to integrate CCTV and IoT edge devices into the existing network infrastructure.
· Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (Ubuntu, Rocky, CentOS) used for monitoring, logging, and storage of security and network data.
· Configure, deploy, and manage virtual machines and hyperconverged infrastructure (Nutanix) supporting surveillance and network management applications.
· Perform periodic network performance assessments and implement tuning measures to enhance reliability, bandwidth efficiency, and cybersecurity.
· Utilize infrastructure monitoring tools to track uptime, traffic utilization, and device health metrics.
· Maintain technical documentation, including network topology diagrams, configuration records, change logs, and standard operating procedures.
· Provide on-site and remote technical support during outages or incidents, conducting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications· Proven experience in enterprise network engineering and data centre operations, with a focus on firewalls, VPNs, routing protocols, high availability, and edge device management.
· Hands-on experience with Cisco networking, including Nexus switches, and strong understanding of IP networking, VLANs, subnetting, and advanced switch/router configuration.
· Direct experience administering enterprise firewalls and security appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet), including VPN and high-availability configurations.
· Experience in managing virtualization and hyperconverged platforms, particularly Nutanix, and virtual machines supporting surveillance and network applications.
· Proficiency with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Rocky, or CentOS) for system administration and monitoring.
· Direct experience with NVRs, DVRs, MDVRs, and IP-based CCTV surveillance systems.
· Capability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network, virtualization, and device-level issues efficiently.
· Technical certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE4, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Nutanix NCP, CompTIA Network) are preferred.
· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Education· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
