Assist in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco network devices (routers, switches) in a LAN/WAN environment
Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, UCCX, IM & Presence, CUC, VG, and Expressway) and VoIP solutions
Monitor network performance and perform routine maintenance tasks, including firmware upgrades and patch management
Participate in diagnosing and resolving network and VoIP-related issues to ensure minimal downtime
Collaborate with senior network engineers on complex troubleshooting tasks and network optimization
Assist in implementing security measures, including firewall rules, VPNs, and access control lists (ACLs)
Work with QoS policies to ensure optimal voice and data traffic flow across the network
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, VoIP settings, and troubleshooting steps
Help manage IP addressing schemes, VLANs, and subnetting for efficient network segmentation
Engage in disaster recovery planning and implement network redundancy protocols, including DMVPN and HSRP
Provide end-user support for VoIP phones, softphones, and related hardware/software issues
Stay updated with the latest Cisco certifications, network technologies, and VoIP industry trends
Required Skills and Qualifications:
B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, communications, or electronics engineering
Experience: 1-2 years in the Network & VOIP field.
Entry-level Cisco certification (CCNA or working towards CCNA).
Basic knowledge of Cisco IOS commands and networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
Familiarity with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and VoIP concepts.
Understanding of network security principles (firewalls, VPN, ACLs, and encryption).
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Cisco networking devices (routers, switches) and basic VoIP technologies
Exposure to DMVPN and security best practices in a Cisco environment
Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, NetScout and PRTG
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (Python) is a plus
Additional Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCNA Collaboration) are a plus
