Node.js Technical Lead

Position: Backend Lead Engineer (Node.js)

Location: [Hybrid] [Cairo/Egypt]

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Lead Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js, to lead our development team. The role involves driving technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a team of backend engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.

Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and Java.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Frontend, DevOps, Product) to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.

Drive architecture discussions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

Manage sprint planning, task assignments, and project timelines.

Stay up to date with backend technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

6+ years of backend development experience, with at least 2+ years in a lead/tech lead role.

Strong hands-on experience with:

Node.js & TypeScript (building APIs, microservices).

Java (Spring Boot or related frameworks).

Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Solid understanding of CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Nice to Have:

Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).

Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
