NPI Engineer (Sheetmetal Manufacturing)

Job Summary

To lead and manage the technical aspects of introducing new sheet metal products manufacturing, ensuring design-for-manufacture, process optimization, and readiness for volume production.

Job Description

• Evaluate 3D models and engineering drawings for manufacturability and collaborate with customer's Design or R&D teams to align new product requirements with manufacturing capabilities.

• Develop detailed manufacturing process flows for new product (e.g., cutting, bending, welding etc)

• Validate process parameters and control plans.

• Run First Article Inspections (FAIs) and Process Capability (CP/CPK) studies.

• Design or specify jigs, fixtures, and tooling required for forming, welding, or assembly.

• Coordinate with suppliers for outsourced fixture fabrication.

• Develop & maintain work instructions, Product BOM & Routing, internal redline drawing, welding documents.

• Ensure all documentation complies with quality standards and traceability requirements.

• Identify potential risks in the introduction of new products and implement mitigation plans.

• Support pilot builds, identify issues, and drive root cause analysis for any quality or process failures.

• Coordinate prototype fabrication and ensure feedback is captured.

• Suggest improvements to reduce complexity, cost, or cycle time.

  • Working Hours : 8.15am to 5.30pm (Mon-Fri)

  • Location : Changi North

  • Company Bus : Pick up at Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, Hougang, Punggol, Pasir Ris, Bedok, Tampines MRT/Interchanges
