About the Opportunity:
As part of our expanding footprint in Saudi Arabia, we are currently seeking a qualified Nuclear Fuels Specialist. This position is based full -time in Riyadh.
The Nuclear Fuel Specialist will report to the Framework Director and be part of a core team based in Riyadh, assessing the needs and EPC bids for all systems for a new nuclear power station, with a focus on nuclear fuel aspects. The Saudi environment has challenges with no existing nuclear power plants, so you will need to understand how the proposals with fuel will impact the country and logistics. The client does not have experience in this area, so you will be a dynamic, self-motivated candidate with established technical expertise, interdisciplinary skills, a client-focused mindset and the ability to impart knowledge to inexperienced but sharp minds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consulting services to address challenges in nuclear fuel in a Nuclear Power Station based in the Saudi environmental conditions, ensuring compliance with international nuclear standards.
- Have a disciplined traceable approach to bid evaluation.
- Hold, build and maintain robust relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Here's What You'll Need:
- A solid background in nuclear fuel in Nuclear Power.
- Minimum of 20 years proven experience in nuclear fuel, with a significant part of it in operational aspects of nuclear power plants.
- Strong understanding of international nuclear standards relating to fuel handling, storage, import/export and similar.
- Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. Higher degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is a key requirement, being able to provide the client with articulate briefings on the findings of the bid evaluation.
- Proactive, adaptable, and innovative, capable of working on diverse projects.
- Essential qualities include being organised, dynamic, self-motivated, and driven, coupled with excellent communication skills, as the role requires independently leading and developing agreed-upon activities.
- Excellent report writing, technical review skills and attention to detail.
- Strong task management skills coupled with commercial acumen.
- Effective at stakeholder management and influencing others.
