We are looking for The Nuclear Medicine Specialist is responsible for performing, interpreting, and overseeing diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials. This role supports accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care by producing high-quality nuclear medicine images while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures (e.g., PET, SPECT, thyroid scans, bone scans).
- Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
- Interpret imaging results or collaborate with physicians to assist in diagnosis.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
- Perform quality control checks on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Educate patients about procedures, risks, and post-procedure instructions.
- Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (role-dependent).
- Completion of an accredited nuclear medicine or radiology training program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Nuclear Medicine (for physician roles).
- Valid state licensure and relevant professional certifications (e.g., NMTCB, ARRT).
- CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required depending on facility).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Ability to interpret complex imaging data accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with imaging software and electronic medical records (EMR).

Work Environment
