Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Nursery Supervisor is responsible for the effective daily operations of an assigned Kid Zone branch, ensuring delivery of early childhood education and care aligned with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards and RAKEZ policies. Provides supervision to teachers, assistants, and support staff, ensuring smooth branch-level execution, child development tracking, and regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise, coach, and support branch-level staff including senior teachers, teachers, teaching assistants, and nursery helpers.
  • Allocate staff resources efficiently to ensure smooth daily operations and quality care delivery.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback, identifying training needs and supporting professional development.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture that reflects the values and ethos of Kid Zone.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Branch Operations Oversight:

  • Manage day-to-day activities within the assigned Kid Zone branch, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and child-centered environment.
  • Ensure continuous adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices related to admissions, classroom care, and nursery hygiene.
  • Monitor staff-to-child ratios and classroom readiness across all operational periods.
  • Serve as the on-site lead for audits, inspections, and emergency procedures.
  • Assist the Manager - Kid Zone Nursery in preparing the annual budget for the assigned branch.
  • Provide accurate inputs and forecasts related to staffing, supplies, and operational needs.
  • Monitor expenses at the branch level to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

Curriculum Implementation:

  • Develop, promote, and implement the EYFS framework for the learning and development of children.
  • Maintain high standards of care and education, incorporating child development and parenting best practices.

Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance:

  • Engage with internal teams (HR, Development, IT, Parks Operations) to resolve issues related to staffing, maintenance, and operations.
  • Liaise with external authorities including MOE, MOHAP, and Civil Defence for regulatory compliance and approvals.
  • Lead the branch's preparation for inspections and quality assurance visits.
  • Engage parents through regular feedback, developmental updates, and family support.

Child Development & Safeguarding:

  • Implement the EYFS framework to support age-appropriate learning and development.
  • Monitor developmental milestones and maintain individual education plans, especially for children with additional needs or disabilities.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all child and family information, in alignment with safeguarding policies.
  • Prepare and share regular progress reports with parents, maintaining constructive communication and trust.

Reporting & Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate registers, attendance sheets, developmental logs, and incident reports.
  • Ensure staff and children's documents are properly stored and archived in line with legal and policy requirements.
  • Accept and track fee payments from parents, ensuring timely submission and reconciliation.
  • Support timely renewals and submission of parent/member documentation.

Back-up & Business Continuity:

  • Support business continuity by serving as a backup for relevant functions/tasks and ensuring seamless service delivery during absences, peak periods, or unforeseen disruptions and as requested by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field.

Professional Qualifications

  • Certified professional qualification in Early Childhood Leadership or Education
  • Teaching or Nursing qualification (desirable)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in early childhood education or similar role
  • Experience working with children aged 0–5
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory position, preferably in a nursery or early childhood setting

Other requirements

  • Knowledge of the Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Practical experience in day-care settings for young children
  • Understanding of child development and parenting practices
  • Awareness of best practices in early childhood care and education
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with UAE nursery regulations and inspection frameworks
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus
