Job Description
- Monitor, manage, and control online storage based on I/O pattern statistics and performance data.
- Implement best practices and make necessary changes in storage architecture to meet service levels.
- Ensure maintenance of physical servers.
- Configure and allocate storage capacity to end-users based on approved change requests.
- Manage online storage thresholds and data archives.
- Monitor user directories for file inactivity and report monthly.
- Perform online storage compaction as needed.
- Handle data migration, archive management, and storage LUN migration activities.
- Liaise with monitoring teams to receive and validate hardware alerts.
- Collaborate with OS (Windows/Linux) and Virtualisation (VMware) teams to prepare and hand over new hardware.
- Communicate the status of incidents and service requests to the physical server lead.
- Maintain catalogue information based on storage allocation, utilisation, user directories, and access history.
- Monitor and maintain file directories and catalogues.
- Follow release management processes and maintain complete configuration information of storage.

Familiarity with file/catalogue management and storage configuration documentation.
