Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Female Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with subspecialty training in Urogynaecology to join a leading healthcare facility in Al Ain. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for women with pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, and complex urogynecological conditions, while also delivering high-quality general obstetrics and gynaecology services. This role requires a compassionate, patient-centered approach and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of urogynecological conditions, including:
- Female urinary incontinence
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Overactive bladder
- Voiding dysfunction
- Recurrent urinary tract infections
- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Perform comprehensive urogynecological assessments, including urodynamic testing, cystoscopy, and pelvic floor evaluation.
- Provide both conservative and surgical management of pelvic floor disorders.
- Perform advanced urogynecological procedures, including:
- Vaginal and laparoscopic prolapse repair
- Mid-urethral sling procedures
- Pelvic reconstructive surgery
- Hysterectomy and related pelvic floor procedures when indicated
- Deliver comprehensive obstetric and general gynaecological care, including outpatient consultations and inpatient management.
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Counsel patients on treatment options, surgical risks, recovery expectations, and long-term management.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, urologists, colorectal surgeons, radiologists, and other specialists to provide multidisciplinary care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, teaching, and research activities.
- Stay current with advances in urogynecology through continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Fellowship or formal subspecialty training in Urogynaecology/Pelvic Floor Reconstruction is mandatory.
- Western-trained education and/or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience as a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with significant experience in Urogynaecology.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH Consultant license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced pelvic floor surgery and management of complex urogynecological disorders.
