Odoo QA Engineer (Mid-Level)
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Odoo QA Engineer to ensure the quality of standard and customized Odoo solutions throughout the implementation lifecycle. You will work closely with functional consultants and developers to validate business processes, identify defects, and ensure high-quality client deliveries.
Experience: 2–4 years in ERP/Odoo testing or functional QA.
Work Environments
- Development – Feature validation and custom module testing.
- Staging – Integration and regression testing.
- UAT – Client acceptance testing.
- Production – Post-deployment smoke testing.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Participate in requirement reviews and prepare test cases based on business requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across Odoo modules.
- Validate custom developments against approved requirements.
Odoo Functional Testing
- Test workflows, automated/server actions, cron jobs, approval flows, email templates, and reports (QWeb/PDF).
- Verify security groups, record rules, access rights, multi-company, and multi-currency configurations.
Integration & Data Validation
- Test integrations including SMTP/SendGrid, Google Calendar, payment providers, and third-party APIs using Postman.
- Validate data migration/imports (CSV/XLSX/XML), Arabic/RTL support, localization, and printed documents.
Defect & Release Management
- Log and manage defects using Jira (or equivalent), perform retesting, and maintain QA documentation.
- Execute smoke testing after deployments and validate release readiness before go-live.
Reporting
- Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and release readiness reports.
- Support UAT sessions and maintain reusable regression test suites.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Odoo functional flows and ERP business processes.
- Experience in QA methodologies and test case design.
- Basic SQL/PostgreSQL knowledge for data validation.
- Hands-on experience with Jira (or similar) and Postman.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Odoo/ERP QA.
- Experience with Odoo v16–v19 is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Basic Python/XML knowledge.
- Understanding of Odoo ORM and Odoo Studio.
- Experience with Git, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum.
- Basic exposure to automation testing (Selenium or Playwright).
