Job Description

Job Purpose

As a Payment Officer at ZAND Bank, you will be responsible for creating, processing, monitoring, and running daily local and international payment transactions from back office and bank channels. Your role is vital in ensuring transactions comply with scheme and local regulations, as well as supporting enhancements and new product testing within the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and process all bank payment typesincluding domestic/international wire transfers and ACH transactionsfor customers and internal departments.
  • Verify and process incoming and outgoing payments across various payment rails.
  • Handle non-financial messages received through different channels, responding promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance, regulatory mandates, and internal bank policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with team members and stakeholders for seamless operations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, or delays in payments; escalate to management if necessary.
  • Assist customer services and business teams with payment-related issues and queries.
  • Identify, suggest, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors.
  • Monitor transactions for suspicious activity, reporting as required.
  • Generate and review reports on payment activities and exceptions, ensuring management approval per bank DOA.
  • Oversee reconciliation of payments, highlighting any mismatches promptly.
  • Deliver excellent customer experience, resolving payment queries efficiently and escalating complex issues when needed.
  • Ensure customer instructions are executed efficiently, accurately, and on time.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in the payments domain.

Technical Competencies:

  • Expertise in processing outgoing and incoming payments
  • Strong investigation, query resolution, and correspondent handling skills
  • In-depth understanding of local regulatory requirements
  • Experience in user acceptance testing and payment systems validation
