Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Oil Trader to manage and grow our physical and/or paper oil trading operations. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, executing, and optimizing trades across crude oil and refined petroleum products while managing price risk and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and counterparties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute physical and/or paper trading of crude oil and petroleum products (e.g., gasoil, fuel oil, gasoline, naphtha).
  • Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities across regions and markets.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, delivery terms, and credit terms with counterparties.
  • Manage price exposure using hedging instruments such as futures, swaps, and options.
  • Monitor global oil markets, geopolitical developments, freight rates, and refinery dynamics.
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, finance, and legal teams to ensure smooth trade execution and settlement.
  • Maintain compliance with internal risk limits, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of producers, refiners, brokers, and end-users.
  • Prepare daily trading positions, P&L reports, and market analysis for management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and growth of the trading book.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in oil trading (physical and/or derivatives).
  • Proven track record of profitable trading and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of oil market fundamentals, pricing mechanisms, and logistics.
  • Experience trading in Middle East, Asia, Africa, or Europe markets is an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure trading environments.
  • Proficiency in trading systems, Excel, and risk management tools.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
