Kamel Learning is a U.S.-based online tutoring service expanding access to high-quality, personalized academic support for students across the United States.

We are building our founding network of talented online tutors and are seeking knowledgeable, engaging educators who are passionate about teaching and helping students succeed.

The Opportunity

As a Kamel Learning tutor, you will provide live online one-on-one and/or small-group tutoring to students in the United States.

This is a remote independent-contractor opportunity designed for qualified educators who value flexibility, high-quality teaching, innovative instruction, and personalized student support.

Student assignments will be based on student demand, tutor qualifications, subject expertise, availability, and appropriate student-tutor matching. No minimum number of students or tutoring hours is guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, accurate, student-centered online tutoring sessions.
Explain challenging concepts clearly and adapt instruction to individual student needs.
Help students strengthen conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, study strategies, and academic confidence.
Prepare appropriately for scheduled tutoring sessions.
Use educational technology, multimedia resources, visual aids, and other appropriate tools to enhance online learning.
Apply innovative and creative teaching methods that encourage active participation and student engagement.
Maintain a focused, respectful, organized, inclusive, and productive online learning environment.
Maintain professional communication, punctuality, reliability, and attendance.
Follow Kamel Learning's tutoring, scheduling, documentation, student-protection, and professional-conduct requirements.
Participate in Kamel Learning's tutor onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and quality-review processes.

Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate strong subject-matter expertise, effective teaching ability, professionalism, and a commitment to student success.

Competitive candidates will typically demonstrate:

A master's degree or higher in a relevant academic or professional field. Doctoral, medical, or other advanced professional degrees are especially valued where relevant.
Strong academic preparation and demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the area(s) they intend to tutor.
Previous teaching, tutoring, academic, or educational experience.
Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
The ability to explain complex concepts clearly, accurately, patiently, and at a level appropriate to the individual learner.
Expert and effective use of educational technology, online teaching tools, multimedia resources, and visual aids to enhance understanding and the online learning experience.
Innovative and creative teaching methods and techniques that promote active learning, maintain student engagement, and accommodate different learning needs and approaches.
Effective online classroom management skills, including the ability to maintain a focused, respectful, organized, and productive learning environment.
A demonstrated commitment to respecting student diversity and individual differences, including differences in background, learning needs, academic preparation, perspectives, and learning approaches.
The ability to adapt instructional strategies based on individual student needs, progress, and feedback.
Professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and effective communication with students and Kamel Learning administration.
Reliable high-speed internet access and suitable computer, audio, video, and other equipment required for professional online tutoring.
The ability to maintain a professional, appropriate, quiet, and distraction-free online teaching environment.
Availability that overlaps with U.S. student tutoring hours.

Additional Qualifications for MCAT & USMLE Tutors

Applicants seeking to tutor MCAT or USMLE students should demonstrate particularly strong knowledge of the relevant examination content and appropriate academic, professional, teaching, or examination experience.

Relevant standardized-examination performance and/or previous MCAT or USMLE preparation teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement

Location: Remote

Engagement: Independent Contractor

Schedule: Flexible; based on tutor availability and student demand

Students Served: Primarily college students and exam-preparation learners located in the United States

This opportunity does not guarantee a minimum number of students, assignments, tutoring hours, or earnings.

Tutor Selection Process

Kamel Learning is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality and instructional excellence. Qualified applicants may be invited to progress through a selection process that may include:

Preliminary Screening Questionnaire — Completion of a brief questionnaire covering academic background, subject expertise, teaching experience, online teaching experience, technology proficiency, availability, and other relevant qualifications.
CV Submission and Review — Submission and evaluation of the applicant's current CV or résumé, including education, professional experience, teaching experience, and relevant qualifications.
Recorded Teaching Sample — Submission of a 10-minute recorded teaching sample demonstrating the applicant's ability to explain a topic within their subject area clearly and effectively. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate appropriate use of educational technology, visual aids, student-engagement techniques, and creative teaching approaches.
Academic and Credential Verification — Verification of relevant degrees, certifications, professional qualifications, and other credentials, as appropriate.
Interview — Discussion of the applicant's teaching experience, subject expertise, communication skills, teaching philosophy, professionalism, availability, and approach to online student engagement.
Live Teaching Demonstration — A short live online teaching demonstration to evaluate instructional effectiveness, subject knowledge, English-language proficiency, communication skills, use of educational technology and visual aids, adaptability, student engagement, and online classroom management.
Professional or Academic References — Submission of contact information for three professional or academic references who can speak to the applicant's qualifications, teaching ability, professionalism, or relevant experience.
Letters of Recommendation — Submission of three professional or academic letters of recommendation supporting the applicant's qualifications and suitability for tutoring with Kamel Learning.

Applicants who successfully complete the selection process may be invited to proceed to Kamel Learning tutor onboarding, contracting, and required documentation before becoming eligible for student assignments.
