About the Role:
The Operational Excellence role in Manufacturing is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations to enhance productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).The role also involves leveraging data analytics and advanced statistical tools to drive data-based decision-making, improve process capability, and reduce variability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key driver for Operational Excellence activities for the site.
- Teaching and coaching Green and Black Belts in DMAIC, Lean, and statistical tools.
- Working closely with OE Head to develop and implement long-term, high-impact business excellence strategies.
- Working closely with Site Leadership team for project selection and prioritization based on business needs.
- Project Governance: Overseeing the progress of critical improvement initiatives, ensuring quantifiable financial impact.
- Driving a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Technical Expertise: Applying Artificial Intelligence and machine learning application in complex projects, advanced statistical methods, such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and predictive analytics in regular projects.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement through idea harvesting, Kaizen, OE tools and improvement methodologies, and problem-solving skill development program.
- Conduct OE Maturity Assessment to measure the progress made by the teams and suggest areas of improvement.
Academics Qualification:
- Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
- Certification: Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from reputed organisation like GE/ Pfizer / GSK / Birla group/TATA group or institutes like ISI.
- Skills: Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and expert-level understanding of Six Sigma tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and change management capabilities.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 15+ years of experience leading projects in a Black Belt capacity. Experience(Min 4-5 Years) in pharma industry is preferred.
- Experience in Manufacturing Operations including support functions like Maintenance, SCM, EHS, QC, QA etc.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of OE concepts like TQM, TPM, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S is must.
- Knowledge of cGMP practices a mandatory.
- Must possess excellent project management
- Hands on experience in problem solving i.e. RCA
- Good Communication & proficiency in computer
- The person is expected to interact with all functional heads and drive improvements in key business processes and facilitate implementation of initiatives.
- Conversant with statistics, Good Analytical & Problem Solving Skills, Exposure to Six Sigma, FMEA and Lean is a must.
- Knowledge on ISO 9001:2000, Training & Facilitation skills
