Job Description

An Operations Coordinator in Joinery & Fit-out acts as the central link between the design office, the production factory, and the on-site installation teams. While a Maintenance Supervisor focuses on the long-term upkeep of finished products, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for the seamless end-to-end execution of active projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Project Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between site teams, factory production, and subcontractors to ensure everyone is aligned with the project schedule.
  • Production Planning: Coordinate daily and weekly workshop schedules to ensure joinery items (like doors, wardrobes, and counters) are manufactured and dispatched according to site installation priorities.
  • Resource Coordination: Monitor manpower allocation, material deliveries, and equipment availability to prevent operational bottlenecks.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including LPOs, delivery notes, daily site reports, and status trackers (Green/Amber/Red) for management.
  • Procurement Support: Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure long-lead items and raw materials (veneer, hardware, MDF) are ordered and delivered on time.
  • Quality & Compliance: Assist in QC inspections before dispatch to ensure all custom-made items match the approved shop drawings and quality standards.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Experience: Typically requires 2–5 years of experience in the UAE Joinery & fit-out industry or a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical shop drawings and bill of quantities (BOQs) to coordinate effectively with the technical team.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong command of MS Excel, project management tools (like MS Project or Trello), and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or SAP).
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of dispatch scheduling and warehouse coordination to ensure fragile joinery items reach the site safely.
  • Soft Skills: High-level multitasking, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
