We are currently hiring a Operations Director for our client a long established landscaping business in the UAE with strong regional and commercial presence.
Role Purpose
The Operations Director will be responsible for end-to-end operational performance of Construction, Quantity Surveying (QS), and Estimation functions. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, to quality and safety standards, while driving operational efficiency, cost control, and cross-functional alignment.
Reporting to: General Manager
Responsibilities:
1. Construction & Project Delivery
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all construction and landscape projects.
- Ensure projects are executed as per approved scope, programme, budget, and quality standards.
- Resolve escalated site-level issues and remove delivery bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, client requirements, and statutory regulations.
2. Commercial Control (QS)
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and financial control across all projects.
3. Estimation & Tendering
- Provide oversight and direction on tender strategy, pricing, and risk assessment.
4. Operational Strategy & Process Improvement
- Drive standardization of processes, reporting, and controls across projects.
- Implement systems to improve productivity, cost efficiency, and accountability.
- Review resource planning across projects to optimize manpower and equipment utilization.
- Contribute to long-term operational planning and scalability of the business.
5. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, consultants, and partners.
- Support project teams in resolving contractual or operational disputes.
- Collaborate closely with the GM/ Managing Director and senior leadership on business priorities.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and performance-manage senior managers across Construction, QS, and Estimation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree
- 1215+ years of experience in construction/landscaping operations, with senior leadership exposure.
- Experience in GCC construction environment crucial.
- Strong understanding of project execution, commercial management, and tendering.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
