Job Purpose:

  • Perform daily diving operations at Corallium, supporting animal care, exhibit maintenance, life support inspections, and guest engagement programs.
  • Ensure all dives are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Corallium's Dive Safety Manual and international standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Duties

  • Carry out in-water tasks such as exhibit cleaning, feeding, animal husbandry support, and habitat maintenance.
  • Conduct visual inspections of life support intakes, exhibits, and underwater structures.
  • Assist aquarists and veterinary staff in underwater procedures, collections, and transfers.
  • Participate in guest diving programs, tours, and public presentations.
  • Maintain dive equipment and report maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Complete accurate dive logs, records, and reports after every operation.
  • Participate in emergency drills and respond to incidents when required.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional diving certification (AAUS, IMCA, ADAS, or equivalent).
  • 24 years professional diving experience (aquarium, scientific, or commercial diving).
  • Experience in exhibit or underwater maintenance preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong in-water technical skills and buoyancy control.
  • Knowledge of diving safety standards and risk management.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Reliability and attention to detail in high-risk environments

Job Context

  • Role requires frequent in-water diving in exhibits and back-of-house systems.
  • Physically demanding work in high-risk underwater conditions.
  • Shift work, weekends, holidays, and emergency availability required.
