Job Description

About Rayqube

Rayqube is an experiential technology and events company specializing in immersive storytelling, brand activations, large-scale events, and interactive experiences. We work with leading brands, agencies, and government entities to create memorable experiences that blend creativity, innovation, and flawless execution.

About The Role

We are seeking a versatile Operations Executive & Installation Mechatronics Engineer for a unified, dual-focus position that demands excellence in both hands-on physical site execution and advanced engineering design. This hybrid role requires a candidate who can seamlessly transition between acting as an Installation Technician—managing essential field tasks like pulling cables, physical equipment mounting, and hardware deployment—and a Mechatronics Engineer—spearheading high-level technical work such as creating detailed technical drawings, designing sophisticated embedded systems, and programming or integrating control protocols like DMX.

The successful candidate must be proficient in bridging the gap between mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to bring creative visions to life through reliable, safe, and automated technologies. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of interactive installations, ensuring that innovative engineering designs are matched by rigorous and professional on-site implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dual-Track Project Delivery:
  • Lead the design of mechatronic systems and technical schematics while simultaneously overseeing the physical deployment of hardware and infrastructure on-site.
  • Physical Installation & Rigging:
  • Execute and manage site-wide cable management, rigging of technical equipment, and the secure mounting of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Engineering & Programming:
  • Create detailed engineering schematics and perform embedded programming (Arduino/Raspberry Pi) for control systems and kinetic installations.
  • System Integration & Optimization:
  • Integrate mechanical structures with actuators and sensors, ensuring systems are optimized for both performance and long-term on-site reliability.
  • Field Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee rack assembly, power distribution, and signal routing to support complex experiential technology setups.
  • Vendor & Partner Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with fabrication partners, control system suppliers, and creative agencies to realize technically ambitious concepts.
  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, electrical codes, and live event safety regulations (CE, UL, ISO, OSHA, etc.).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Installation & Technician Proficiencies:
  • Expertise in structured cabling and signal/power management.
  • Mastery of rack assembly and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on physical hardware installation, mounting, and rigging.
  • Mechatronics Engineering Mastery:
  • Advanced CAD design and technical drawing (AutoCAD, Fusion 360).
  • Programming embedded control systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32).
  • Integration of protocols such as DMX, Art-Net, and OSC.
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross-disciplinary collaboration experience.
  • Willingness to travel for installations, testing, and on-site event support.

Preferred Qualifications (Hybrid Expertise)

  • Demonstrated Hybrid Capability: Proven ability to bridge hands-on installation technician experience (field site logistics, practical hardware handling) with high-level mechatronics engineering (advanced system design, coding, and technical documentation).
  • Experience with robotics for live events or scenic automation.
  • Familiarity with interactive technologies (motion tracking, sensors, real-time data processing).
  • Knowledge of Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW for system control and data analysis.
  • Experience working with creative technology teams or studios.
  • Background in structural analysis and dynamic load simulation.
  • Possession of a valid UAE driver's license and a personal road vehicle is considered a major asset.
