Job Description
Operations Intern (Unpaid)
Important: To be considered, you MUST submit your application at www.owlera.site. LinkedIn applications alone will not be reviewed.
About the Internship
Owlera is an early-stage startup, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Operations Intern to help us keep the engine running. You'll work directly with the founding team on the processes behind the product — streamlining workflows, organizing data, coordinating across functions, and fixing whatever is broken. This is a hands-on, remote, 6-week unpaid internship for someone who wants to learn how startups actually operate, not just study operations theory.
Responsibilities
• Map current workflows and identify bottlenecks, delays, and manual steps
• Propose and document improved, repeatable processes
• Build and maintain simple SOPs (standard operating procedures) for key tasks
• Organize and clean up shared data, spreadsheets, and internal records
• Track project tasks and follow up with owners to keep things moving
• Help coordinate between product, marketing, and sales workstreams
• Research tools and vendors for operations needs (with cost comparisons)
• Set up lightweight dashboards to track team output and key metrics
• Run weekly ops check-ins and document action items and decisions
• Test new tools and processes in small pilots before full rollout
• Assist with scheduling, resource planning, and deadline management
• Document recurring problems and propose systemic fixes
• Support onboarding of new interns and contributors (checklists, access, docs)
• Help prepare investor-ready operational reports and summaries
• Track costs and find practical ways to reduce waste
• Manage the team's digital workspace (folders, docs, permissions, naming)
• Draft internal communications and team announcements
• Collect team feedback on processes and iterate on improvements
Requirements
• Strong organizational skills and genuine attention to detail
• Analytical thinker — comfortable with spreadsheets, data, and structured problem-solving
• Clear written communication in English (you'll write a lot of documentation)
• Proactive self-starter who spots problems and fixes them without being asked
• Comfortable juggling many small tasks and reprioritizing quickly
• Reliable and accountable in a remote, asynchronous setting
• Curious about how startups and businesses actually run day to day
• Quick learner — picks up new tools and workflows fast
• Available 10–15 hours per week for 6 weeks
• Bonus: experience with Notion, Trello, Google Sheets/Excel, or any process or project tools
What You'll Gain
• Real, hands-on experience running operations at an early-stage startup
• Direct mentorship from the founding team on startup operations
• A first-hand look at how small teams scale without breaking
• Practical process-mapping and workflow-optimization skills
• Experience writing SOPs and operational documentation
• Data organization and basic analytics skills
• Proficiency with modern ops and project-management tools
• Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder-management experience
• Exposure to budgeting, cost tracking, and resource planning
• Certificate of completion at the end of the internship
• Letter of recommendation for strong performers
• LinkedIn recommendation for strong performers
• Networking with startup founders and operators
• Potential path to a paid role or extended engagement
• A flexible remote schedule that fits around your studies
