This role is with Petrochem Performance Chemicals (PPC) (Part of Mazrui International).

PPC specializes in drilling fluids and associated equipment services. We increase customer asset value through the provision of cost effective, customized technical solutions in the drilling and completion fluids, solids control, filtration equipment, and waste management services. Our geographical territory covers the Middle East and Caspian with current operations in the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, and Yemen.

Designation :- Operations Lead / Project Lead (Drilling Fluids)

Reporting to :- Country Manager

Job Objective :- The Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing PPC UAE's contracted services including Drilling Fluids, Waste Management, Solid Control, and Filtration. The role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and profitability by coordinating resources, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement across service delivery. The Operations Lead acts as the key liaison between field teams and senior management, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities/Duties :-

  • Lead and manage daily operations across PPC service lines to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Monitor performance metrics and generate reports to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage budgets, inventory, and logistics to support field operations.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Supervise and mentor field staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Conduct audits, site visits, and performance reviews to uphold service standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operations with strategic goals.

Specialized Knowledge :-

Advanced knowledge of drilling waste technologies and environmental compliance.

Ability & Skills :-

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in operational planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of drilling fluids, waste management, and filtration systems.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Familiarity with HSE protocols and quality management systems.
  • Competence in budgeting, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience with service quality audits and corrective action planning.
  • Skilled in managing cross-functional teams and field operations.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to safety and compliance.

Experience :-

  • Professional Experience: 5-10 years experience as a Drilling Fluid Specialist, Field supervisor.
  • Drilling Fluid / Completion fluid, Drilling Waste Management, Solid Control
  • Project Engineer and/or SCE operations management/coordination.

Academic Qualifications :-

  • Preferably bachelor's degree in petroleum, or Chemical engineering category or an equivalent technical qualification or
  1. sufficient field experience accommodated with relevant training and courses.
  2. Mud School is prerequisite from BAROID or SLB or BHI or PPC equivalency exam/ test.

Accountabilities and Performance Measures :-

  • Financial profitability of the Drilling Fluids and Equipment division
  • Equipment maintenance records established, kept, reviewed monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Provide monthly utilization report for management
  • Monitor inventory and provide monthly, quarterly, annual report(s)
  • Training matrix established for all personnel and reviewed quarterly
  • HSE compliance at 100% - workshop(s) / locations
  • One new technology evaluation on a bi-annual basis
  • Technical bids and the necessary cost calculations / estimates
