Job Summary
Responsible for assigned aircraft maintenance employees and the daily and overall operations of the aircraft maintenance department, such as technical performance, safety, schedules, personnel, quality, and the performance of all aircraft maintenance activities for multiple line maintenance site(s).
The permanent base for this position is in Abu Dhabi at our new upcoming facility at Al Bateen Executive Airport by Q3, 2026. In the meantime, the position will temporarily be based in Dubai at our line station at Al Makhtoum Airport. The incumbent will be required to relocate to Abu Dhabi when the site is operational & establish their residence in Abu Dhabi.
What are your contributions to the team
- Be responsible for the maintenance operations of an OEM, Part 145 organisation.
- Ensure functions at the maintenance department who are performing work affecting product quality are competent on the basis of appropriate education, initial/continuation training, skills and experience, by giving input to and approval of the yearly training program.
- Perform management responsibilities for maintenance staff, for example: PMP, merit reviews, PiPs, work assignments, approving and scheduling vacation, monitoring attendance, review, approve, and verify/ensure accuracy of employee's hours worked, and time charged to correct aircraft program
- Develop and submit annual maintenance department budget including manpower requirements to the General Manager
- Achieve monthly SMART objectives
- Assist in the development of strategic plans to support latest programs and capabilities based on analysis of current market trends.
- Assess the production schedule (hangar and AOG) on a dynamic 3month schedule in coordination with the Project Managers, to ensure manpower availability, proper load of the hanger, and ontime deliveries.
- Support the Project Managers and ensure escalated constraints are resolved.
- Ensure satisfactory completion and certification of all work required by operators/customers in accordance with the work specification, as well as customer quality expectations.
- Ensure subcontracted orders are correctly detailed and that the requirements of the contract/order are fulfilled in respect of inspection and quality control.
- Approve payment of vendors or suppliers invoices for services or supplies required by Maintenance Department.
- Facilitate the daily StandUp meeting Maintenance Projects with all departments. Update daily reports on aircraft states, clocked manpower and report to the accountable manager.
- Respond to quality deficiencies in the area for which he/she is responsible, which arise from independent quality audits
- Monitor returned customer questionnaires in order to respond to customer concerns on all department personnel, equipment or quality of services rendered
- Solicit feedback from staff for development of new concepts and actively support and integrate continuous improvement activities in order to ensure that the relevant BSC objectives including the customer satisfaction index goals are met
- Give input to QA for the Management Review, and participate in the meeting that is performed twice a year
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ensure all aircraft and AP maintenance including defect rectification is conducted to the standard of and in accordance with the MOE, relevant GCAA and EASA, Part 145 and responsible CAMO requirements
- Maintain maintenance personnel's understanding of the MOE and drive the implementation and application of the MOE system to ensure compliance with relevant GCAA and EASA.
- Liaise as necessary with responsible CAMOs, Suppliers and Subcontractors
How to thrive in this role
- Previous experience in a similar role under the GCAA &/or EASA Aviation Management
- 8+ years of aviation experience as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer, including at least 3 years experience managing an aircraft maintenance facility environment
- Able to meet the GCAA/EASA requirements to be Part 145 Responsible Manager
- Sound knowledge of GCAA/EASA as it applies to Part 145 organization
- Sound knowledge of QMS and SMS
- Sound communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels within a multidisciplinary environment
- Have accounting and budgeting principles necessary to read and interpret profit/loss statements, financial reports, and meet SMART objectives for assigned areas and programmes
- Valid UAE driver's license is a must
