Operations Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead warehouse and contract logistics operations while driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for an experienced operations leader who enjoys managing large teams, improving business performance, building strong customer relationships, and leading strategic transformation initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, cost optimisation, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Manager, you will:

• Provide strategic site leadership across warehouse and logistics operations
• Lead daily operations to ensure productivity, service quality, and operational excellence
• Drive cost optimisation initiatives, including labour, overtime, and third-party expenditure management
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and digital transformation
• Serve as the primary operational contact for customers and support business growth through strong customer partnerships
• Support commercial activities, including contract renewals and service expansions
• Lead Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects to improve productivity and service performance
• Manage operational budgets and support P&L performance
• Approve operational purchases, equipment requisitions, and third-party expenses within assigned authority limits
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, regulatory, and operational standards
• Conduct capacity planning, manpower forecasting, and resource allocation based on business requirements
• Lead, coach, and develop high-performing operational teams

Required Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer requirements and business objectives
• Knowledge of lease terms, pricing models, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving abilities
• Experience using data dashboards and business analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) to support operational decisions
• Ability to lead customer presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and executive meetings
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or contract logistics
• Proven experience in an operations management or managerial role
• Demonstrated experience managing P&L or operational budgets
• Experience leading Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement initiatives
• Proven success leading large, cross-functional teams
