Role Overview
The FinOps professional will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, optimizing costs, strengthening controls, and enabling data-driven decision-making. This role plays a critical part in scaling financial processes, maintaining compliance, and supporting sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day financial transactions (AP/AR, reconciliations, settlements).
- Manage payment reconciliations across banking and payment platforms.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
2. Reconciliation & Controls
- Perform daily reconciliation of transactions, merchant settlements, and gateway reports.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve settlement mismatches.
- Establish and improve internal financial controls.
3. Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Support audits (internal and external).
- Maintain documentation aligned with FinTech compliance standards.
4. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Monitor revenue streams, transaction fees, chargebacks, and operational costs.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights.
5. Process Optimization
- Automate financial workflows and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with product and tech teams to improve financial data pipelines.
- Implement scalable financial systems and tools.
6. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
- Manage relationships with banking partners.
- Forecast short-term and long-term cash requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CA/CMA/CPA preferred).
- 3–8 years of experience in financial operations, preferably in FinTech, payments, or banking.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, settlement cycles, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience working with payment gateways and digital banking systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial tools (ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments.
- Knowledge of AML/KYC processes.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- SQL or data analytics experience is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
