Job Description

Role PurposeThe Oracle Middleware Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing enterprise Oracle WebLogic and Fusion Middleware environments that support critical business integrations.

The role focuses on patch management, performance tuning, certificate lifecycle management, and integration layer stability, ensuring middleware platforms remain secure, highly available, and compliant within a high-demand enterprise and banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patch Management & UpgradesPlan and execute critical patch upgrades for:

  • Oracle WebLogic Server
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware components
  • Ensure timely application of security patches to protect middleware endpoints
  • Conduct patch impact assessments, testing, and rollback planning
  • Minimize service disruption during patching activities through controlled deployments

2. Middleware Security & Certificate ManagementManage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle across middleware environments:

  • Installation, renewal, and replacement
  • Certificate expiry monitoring
  • Enforce secure configurations and encryption standards
  • Address vulnerabilities related to middleware platforms and integration endpoints
  • Ensure alignment with internal security policies and compliance requirements

3. Performance Tuning & Capacity PlanningMonitor and optimize middleware performance for high availability and responsiveness

  • Conduct:
  • JVM tuning
  • Thread pool management
  • Connection pool optimization
  • Perform capacity planning to support business growth and ensure scalability
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in integration layers

4. Integration Layer Stability & OperationsSupport and maintain enterprise integration platforms connecting business applications

  • Ensure reliability and uptime of:
  • APIs
  • Messaging systems
  • Service-oriented architecture (SOA) components
  • Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related incidents and outages
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for issue resolution

5. Automation & Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to automate:

  • Patch deployment
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Routine administrative tasks
  • Improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Contribute to modernization and optimization initiatives

6. Compliance, Documentation & Audit SupportEnsure middleware environments comply with:

  • Enterprise IT and security standards
  • Regulatory requirements (banking/financial services)
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for:
  • System configurations
  • Patch history
  • Performance baselines
  • Support audits and provide evidence of compliance and patch management

Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor's degree in:

  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Systems Engineering or related field

Experience8-10 years of experience in:

  • Oracle Middleware administration
  • Enterprise integration environments
  • Hands-on expertise with:
  • Oracle WebLogic Server
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware / SOA Suite
  • Experience in banking or regulated environments is strongly preferred

Technical SkillsStrong expertise in:

  • Oracle WebLogic Server administration (12c or later)
  • Oracle SOA Suite and Fusion Middleware stack

Experience with:

  • Middleware patching and upgrade processes
  • SSL/TLS configuration and certificate management

Knowledge of:

  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting techniques
  • Integration technologies (SOAP/REST APIs, messaging systems)

Familiarity with:

  • Linux/Unix environments
  • Monitoring tools and log analysis
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python) is an advantage
  • Certifications (Preferred / Required)Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Certified Implementation Specialist
